He is preparing to air his final Triple M radio show this week after 11 years on the air.
But Eddie McGuire, 56, has admitted that he initially considered pulling the plug on his world-class breakfast show in Melbourne.
Speaking to Confidential, Eddie admitted that he and his co-host Luke Darcy will have a very difficult time saying goodbye.

‘We will miss everything about it. Already as I was reading (my decision to quit the show) I was wondering if I should hit the dump button because you don’t want to go and you never go, but sometimes it comes to a random position that it has. ‘
As Eddie prepares for an emotional goodbye on Friday, he admitted that there is a chance he will return one day.

« I’ve said goodbye here before and came back so you never know, » he admitted, referring to his departure and eventual return to Richard Stubbs’ breakfast show.
He added, ‘If I ever get the opportunity to work with Luke Darcy again, I’ll grab it with both hands. ‘
It comes after Eddie tells the Herald Sun that his mother’s death in August sparked the decision to resign from his popular radio show.
Fond Farewell: Eddie announced on Triple M Melbourne’s The Hot Breakfast this month that the show would have its final episode on Friday the 27th. November, would broadcast.
He also announced that his co-host Luke suffered a similar loss when his father, David Darcy, died that same month.
‘Darce’s dad was such a great friend of the show and so popular. My mother died two days later, but we knew it was imminent. I don’t think you’re going to learn much if you don’t learn from this year, ”Eddie said.
The former CEO of Nine stated that he was « hurt for a while » with the weight of the decision, but realized that the early alarms, daily commitments and feelings of « jet lag » indicated his need to « think and » charge’.
