Australian media personality Erin Molan shared an emotional message with fans following her father’s medical shock diagnosis.
Liberal Senator Jim Molan announced Monday that he would be leaving after an « aggressive » form of cancer was discovered.
« I will be saying goodbye to the Senate for more tests to confirm the prognosis and begin treatment, » he said in a statement.
Senator Molan, the television and radio host’s father, said the news came as a shock but he had « many reasons to be positive ».
It sparked many wishes for the family in the past few days, including « Thousands of Messages ».
Molan took to Instagram Thursday to deliver a warm message on behalf of her family – mother Anne, sisters Sarah and Felicity, and brother Mick.
« We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the thousands of messages conveying good wishes, thoughts and prayers that we have received in the past few days, » said the post.
« Along with Jim, we were especially encouraged and inspired by those who shared their own cancer experiences with us.
« We thank every single person who got in touch. We are overwhelmingly grateful for your kindness. »
Molan is a sports host on the Nine Network and co-hosted the 2Day FM breakfast show.
