BOCA RATON, Fla. – Caleb Pendleton of Florida Atlantic hit Grand Slams in his first two college appearances on Saturday night, both in the same inning.

Connected in his first game the newcomer to the bases charged twice during a 12 run inning against central Florida during a 20:15 win.

« Nothing I could ever dream of, » he added. « That is definitely more than I ever thought to prepare for today. I never thought that I would advance to my third at-bat with two Grand Slams. That was pretty cool. »

The right-hander hit the second bang in the center left and cleared a row of palm trees behind the perimeter fence.

Pendleton hit two flyouts and struck his last three bats. He said he was visibly nervous before the first pitch and that teammates beat him up because of his nervousness after the first slam.

His trick was making headlines at the end of the game, and he said he was expecting his cell phone get « crazy » in the clubhouse. He couldn’t check before speaking to reporters.

« I have to be in bed tonight and check all the notifications and stuff, » he said.

As a high school graduate, Pendleton was ranked number 3 in Perfect Game State of Florida rated and twice PG Preseason All-American.
