Manchester United took a significant step towards the last four Europa League games as the away teams enjoyed the first leg in Thursday night’s quarter-finals much better.
Marcus Rashford brought that 2017 winners, United, took the lead in the 31st minute against Granada in Spain before Bruno Fernandes scored a 2-0 win with a late penalty.
Roma also had a lead in their travels in the first leg after they beat Ajax 1: 2 in Amsterdam. The winners of this tie faced United or Granada in the semi-finals.

Ajax took the lead from Davy Klaassen in the 39th minute but missed a great opportunity to double their lead when captain Dusan Tadic took his penalty saw Pau Lopez save 53 minutes.
This was a turning point for Johan Cruyff ArenA when Roma equalized four minutes later with Lorenzo Pellegrini’s free kick before Roger Ibanez, who fouled Tadic for a penalty, scored an outstanding winner in the 87th minute.

The only away team that didn’t win on Thursday night was Slavia Prague, but they still managed to draw a 1-1 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Substitute Arsenal player Nicolas Pepe appeared To give the Gunners the win when they came home four minutes from time, but Slavia reacted deep into stoppage time with a header from Tomas Holes to score a draw.
