To stifle the Green Bay Packers and continue their swing, the Indianapolis Colts will have to attack from all cylinders on Sunday.

Despite what we expected for 2020, the backfield didn’t look very much like its pre-season predictions. Marlon Mack went under in Week 1 and was immediately struck off the equation, but perhaps more importantly, rookie Jonathan Taylor was a little more common than we thought in Year 1. The Nyheim Hines bite-sized weapon, which works unlike Taylor, was not only a good change of pace, but usually the Colts’ most effective playmaker off the field and the occasional passing game.

Finally, in week 11, the Colts seem poised to consciously change the way they spend. According to Ian Rapoport, an insider on the NFL network, Indy plans to « ride the hot hand » on Sunday, which likely means an increased emphasis on Hines.

From @NFLGameDay: The #Lions will start Adrian Peterson on RB today, although Kerryon Johnson will be sharing the broadcasts. In the meantime, the #Colts will be riding the hot hand, which probably means more Nyheim Hines. image. Twitter. com / AbGFvgdI2j

« Don’t be surprised if, given some contradictions and frustrations with newcomer Jonathan Taylor, Hines receives the bulk of the Colts stretcher again while Frank Reich continues to ride the hot hand, » Rapoport told his NFL network colleagues Sunday morning and to that we say: “Good. ”

Hines posted a particularly impressive statistic last Thursday in Indy’s most recent game, a Tennessee Titans street fight in the second half. The 24-year-old rushed for 70 yards 12 times in that game, shredding the defense with five catches for 45 yards.

It was a wonderful weekend for Hines, who won a last-minute win over Liberty with his NC State Wolfpack on Saturday and was now rewarded in his new squad.

We once thought Hines was emulating Darren Sproles on this offensive in favor of Philip Rivers, but he was so much more than that.
